South Africa Under 18 Boys and Girls Squads Announced

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The past week saw the South Africa Schools Championships take place in Pretoria, and Wheelchair Basketball High Performance staff were tasked with selecting the National Under 18 Boys and U18 Girls Squads.

Wheelchair Basketball South Africa’s Director of High Performance and Coaching, Gerry Smith, said that in 2020 are large emphasis on the High Performance Program will be to focus on our Elite Youth Athletes to ready them for their progression to the Senior squads.

” We are launching our National Junior Academy Program in 2020 and we are excited about this. We have identified that we need to do more to develop our youngsters and in 2020 we will launch our Junior Academy Programs”.

Initially the focus will be on the U18 and U14 Age Groups who will be involved in a series of regional high performance camps as well as a handful of National Camps at WBSA’s High Performance Center in Johannesburg.
